Unity
The theme yesterday at the Democratic National Convention was national security, but the other message of the day was unity.
On this site, we talk about how America’s abundant coal reserves helps promote energy independence and helps secure our nation. But in the theme of unity, I also want to point out something that we always say time and time again:
We believe that we will need all of America’s domestic resources to meet our growing energy needs and protect our energy security.

I can support coal use ONLY IF IT HELPS DECREASE ATMOSPHERIC CARBON DIOXIDE LEVEL FROM ITS CURRENT 385 PARTS PER MILLION.

Marvin, that is exactly what we're talking about. We're talking about a future where America's most abundant energy resource, coal, supplies our electricity with even lower emissions ... including the capture and safe storage of CO2. Moreover, the policies that we're promoting will ensure that technologies are available to help other countries like China and India (where emissions growth will be the highest) to also reduce their emissions.
