The debate over climate change is moving (video post)

I wanted to share my thoughts on the state of the climate change debate in Washington these last few weeks. Rather than write it out, I hopped outside and put together this video post. Let me know what you think!

the use of coal rapes the earth

Clean coal is great, except it doesn't exist. No new coal plants should be built without Carbon Capture and Storage technology. None exist today. If you seriously wanted to battle climate change, you would stop all construction without CCS.

global warming? now climate change, dont fool anyone with half a brain.
The real green house gasses is the oxygen and nitrogen that makes up our atmosphere and provides a liveble temperature. To suggest that 385 ppm. of co2 is causing global warming really is so unbelievably naive that the people pushing this are really ignorant of the facts or are just plain lying to us to push a more sinister agenda. As more clean coal comes on line around the world more of the soot and sulphates will cease to exist in the atmosphere which will let more uv rays through and make the daylight hours hotter, which of course the propangandists will use to say that the the earth is getting hotter because of global warming.
And here is another climate change furpie, the acidification of the oceans.
The co2 is supposed to be making the oceans more acidic because ph levels have come down from 8.3 to 8.1.
Forgive me if i'm wrong but acidic does not begin till below ph level of 7.0.
And if so much co2 from the atmosphere was causing that then there would not be any co2 in the air because the oceans would have absorbed it all. myth busted.

Clean Coal? Never will there be such a thing, maybe very very slightly cleaner coal tech. There is nothing out there that makes coal clean. Im sure this wont make it to your web page. Lets see the hard cold facts, data is the only thing that will change my mind. By the way only a true independant study will sway my vote.

Nathaniel,

If you want cold, hard facts, you've come to the right place. The information you find on the ACCCE blog and Web site are fact-based, well-researched and substantiated. You could start by learning the facts about coal-based electricity and clean coal technologies.

You can also find a plethora of reports from the Energy Information Administration and the Department of Energy that conclude that coal will remain part of the country's energy mix for decades to come, and that the investments in clean coal technologies have paid off.

Do any of you people even look at the science? Please read the extensive study done by the Oregon Institute of Science. Over 31,000 scientists agree that you guys are wrong about the relation between man and the negative affects of carbon dioxide.

Data shows an average range variance of about 3 deg. C over a period of 3000 years. Unless there were coal plants 3000 years ago we didn't know about, I'd suggest maybe you do some actual research instead of listening to ignorant politicians that are just seeking popularity.

Look for the OISM Global Research study. It was extensive and thoroughly documented. Before you all destroy one of the last American industries and triple electric bills for poor and elderly citizens, do a little research!

Comments are not published if they do not agree politically. I again submit for your consideration the facts vs. theory. I am not affiliated with the school in any way, I just prefer scientific data rather than trusting politicians. The Oregon Institute of Science has done extensive studies on global warming and over 31,000 scientists have concluded that the manmade greenhouse gases have not had the effect on our planet you claim and there has only been a 3 deg. fluctuation over a 3000 year period. Check the data before you bankrupt our economy further. Coal is our future.
