During the taping of one of our first video blog posts, we were
interrupted by a man who thought we were putting together the evening news. He shouted for us to do a story about the need for him to get a job.
That interruption changed the message of our video post. After all, there's no doubt that
affordable electricity can help get businesses back on their feet and
hiring workers.
Take a look.

The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) is committed to the idea that America can have the affordable, reliable electricity we need, with the clean environment we want. ACCCE’s Behind the Plug blog is the place for up-to-date news and analysis on clean coal technology developments and energy policy progress.
Just because we get most of our electricity from coal now does not mean that it is a good option. Don’t get me wrong, I think we have to keep all our options on the table, but to call coal clean in the face of mountain top removal mining methods is not looking at the big picture. All sources of energy have their problems, but I think we should be spending more time being honest about the reality of the options rather than defending any particular approach.
Chris thinks “we should be spending more time being honest about the reality of the options.”
OK, let’s hear the truth about the capacity, viability and COST TO CONSUMERS of various renewables, including solar and wind.
Chris, what does the mining method have to do with burning coal cleanly? The mining of coal is like any other construction site. What you never see on the news is the pictures of the mine sites after they have been reclaimed. Do you know why? Because you normally cannot tell they’ve been mined unless you are told.
