183,000. 1.65 million. $21 billion.

There’s only a little more than two weeks until Utility MACT’s Dec. 16 deadline. It’s important to tell your legislators and share with your friends and family how damaging this regulation will be to American jobs.

We commissioned a study through the National Economic Research Associates to see what the cumulative impact of these EPA regulations would be.

Here’s a breakdown by the numbers of what Utility MACT, along with the three other EPA regulations, would lead to:

  • 183,000: The number of jobs, on average, lost per year between 2012-2020.
  • 1,650,000: The number of jobs lost nationwide by 2020—hurting both state economies and America’s recovery. This number even accounts for jobs created in some sectors.
  • $21,000,000,000: The amount of money electricity producers would lose annually from 2012-2020. Higher costs lead to higher rates, leading to fewer jobs.

The numbers are clear: Utility MACT, along with other proposed EPA regulations, is going to hurt America’s economy. Write your legislator today.
