New employment figures are out today, and there’s one important message that we keep coming back to—something that our field teams have been discussing in Ohio for the last few days as well: coal equals jobs.
When we’re on the road, we’re hearing from concerned Americans about job loss and providing for families while our economy recovers. That’s where coal can help. Coal mining in the U.S. is responsible for 550,000 American jobs. That’s hundreds of thousands of hard working Americans find stable jobs helping to power America—with 154,000 direct jobs stemming from coal mining and 400,000 relating to the industry as a whole.
